There is a good reason why ipsy has not made an appearance on Reflection of Sanity well, truthfully there are a few good reasons. First, we are flooded by ipsy reviews every month, there are thousands if not hundreds of thousand beauty bloggers either blogging or vlonging about it. Secondly, I have not been blown away by the products that I received for the past few months. I'm not complaining because I don't hate the products but neither did I love them.
For those of you who are not familiar with ipsy (check here), it's a beauty subscription that sends you 4-5 deluxe samples or full size beauty products (makeup, skincare, hair care and nail care) in a bag for USD10.00 a month. Shipping is free within US but those who are in Canada get bitch slapped with USD4.95 shipping fees.
So you can probably guess why ipsy May Glam Bag is making an appearance today. I personally feel that this month's bag is the best to date and it's so good that I will be posting further reviews on some of the products that I received.
ipsy May 2015 'VIP: Very Important Products' Glam Bag |
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better® CC+® Cream with SPF 50+ (sample size $4.75; full size $38.00) |
This is my first introduction to IT Cosmetics and it's a brilliant one. By now you lovelies know about my obsession with base products however, I had zero luck with CC creams until this little gem came along. I will be posting a further review on this because it's that good.
Pixi by Petra Beauty Bronzer in shade Summertime (full size: £15.00 on Pixi website but this came without kabuki brush so not sure on the right price ) |
I've only started dabbling with bronzer a couple of months back and I owned a matte bronzer. So when I saw this has shimmer in it, my heart sank a little. Shimmer and aging are not BFF material because the former usually highlights all the beauty of aging. I'm glad to report that this bronzer is STUNNING. The glow that it gives my face is unbelievably beautiful and the word sun-kissed is the perfect description.
As a bonus? This gorgeous bronzer also can be used as a gorgeous eyeshadow. WIN!
Luxie Beauty Tapered Blending Eye Brush 205 (full size $12.00) |
I'll never get tired of receiving eyeshadow brushes. I am too cheap to buy new ones so I love receiving them in my subscriptions. This is my second brush from Luxie and this didn't disappoint. The bristles are soft and it blends like a dream.
Briogeo Rosarco Milk™ Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray (sample size: $3.92; full size: $20.00) |
I wish you could smell this, the scent is one of the best I've ever came across in hair products. Briogeo suggests to spray this on damp hair however, I felt it's a little messy and a waste of product. Instead, I spray some in my hands and then run my hands through my hair. I feel this way spreads the product evenly throughout my hair. The result is soft, bouncy hair. I am considering to purchase full size once this sample size runs out.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil + BONUS Revolution High-Color Lipgloss (sample size: $4.57; full size: $16.00) |
I have to admit that I was a little disappointed when I saw this was included in my bag, it's no secret that I hate lipgloss. However that disappointment quickly changed once I started using the pencil with the gloss. Yes, I'll be posting full review on this too. I'll give you a hint...it's bloody brilliant!
While I thought last month's bohemian bag was pretty and something that I will use, this month's bag is way better. I mean come on, just take a look at that, I don't know about you but I find it to be sophisticated and chic. But what do I know about fashion eh?
ipsy nailed it this time and I am seriously impressed. Now let's hope the upcoming months will be equally as good.
Wishing you lovelies a wonderful weekend!
