Almost a month ago I was lucky to be accepted as part of BrandBacker's campaign to test the latest product by RevivSerums; TelomErase Serum, Triple Telomere Targeting 6-in-1 Multi-Corrective*. Being the skincare fanatic that I am, I was seriously looking forward to testing this and I did for more than two weeks.
But this tango was not meant to be...oh no honey, this turned out to be a fatal attraction. Bunny boiling not included.
Part of the press release from the brand:
TelomErase incorporates a number of novel cosmetic ingredients sourced worldwide, including:
PEPHA®-TIGHT delivers a fast, instant tightening experience; Eyeseryl® & REGU®-AGE have recognized efficacy against puffy eyebags & dark circles.

SymSitive® 1609 works as a fast-acting “anti-nerve hyper-activator” to calm over-reaction of hypersensitive skin & help prevent stinging & tingling.
aFGF (Recombinant Human acidic Fibroblast Growth Factor) can help remove the appearance of pigmentation, improve complexion, reverse skin damage and tighten skin.
Nano-Lipobelle® DN CoQ10 is a supersaturated double phospholipid nano-emulsion liposome that contains ultra-small particles of highly purified coenzyme Q10, tocopherol (vitamin E) and THD Ascorbate (a novel, potent and expensive form of Vitamin C). Together, they ensure fast penetration into deeper skin layers to maintain activity & potency and become a potent moisturizer, antioxidant & whitening agent.
The serum's base is a sea kelp bioferment with superb skin feel and slip. It can be compared to the famed "miracle broth" found in La Mer® products. Unscented, it is preserved with a safe, worldwide Eco-certified ingredient.

The serum is light in texture and it has a plant like scent. The smell reminds me of a freshly broken leaf stem, it's not unpleasant but leans more towards strange for me. It absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves a slight tackiness which goes away after a few seconds.
The morning after the first night I used this serum, I woke up feeling super impressed when I saw my skin in the mirror. My skin looked soft, smooth and taut as if I had Botox. I was so excited that I couldn't stop gushing about it to Mr. Platt who was as excited and happy as a pig on its way to the slaughterhouse.

I continued to use it twice a day and the result continued to be be amazing until it reached the one and half week mark...
Little red, itchy rashes started popping up all over my forehead, we're not talking about a couple of spots because it was covering almost 30% of my skin. It was so itchy that I caught myself trying to scratch my skin while sleeping.
I instantly knew who was the culprit because I was using the same skincare as always and this serum was the only new addition to my routine. The rashes went away after a few days and I gave this serum another try. Lo and behold, they came back like a bunch of little merry men. Unfortunately, I have no medical background so I couldn't tell you which ingredient triggered the reaction and it baffled me as in why only my forehead broke out in rash. I wasn't using any new haircare so that reason was struck out.
I've tested plenty of skincare in my almost two years of beauty blogging and this is the second product that broke my usually cowhide skin. Guess my skin is not as invincible as I thought it would be after all...
*I received this product for free but my thoughts and opinions are 100% unbiased, honest and my own. There is no place for any sort of BS here. This post is powered by BrandBacker.
