Celebrating Autumn with Avon

It's Fridayyyyyy and wow, what an exciting week it has been in the House of Platt. Summer is fully over and this week has been a busy one for me. Little Tyke is enrolled into Kindermusic and kids gym programme and on top of that, we're back attending school so I've been running out and about a lot. Cherry on the top? Little Tyke and hubby dearest are ill so you can't imagine how happy I am that the weekend is almost here.

Know what else I am excited about today?

As you lovelies can already tell by the title of this post, I'll be sharing some of the newest launches by Avon. And let me tell you, it is hell of a lot of goodness!

To avoid making this post into a novel, I'll only be showing what's new and very short details but do watch out for these products making appearances on the blog. As always, there are some products that I love and some, well...as cursing is no longer a privilege that I have (Little Tyke has been repeating everything we say...Lord help us all), I will settle for the term...."it's not my cup of tea".

I received Avon Skin So Soft range; Firm & Restore Neck & Chest Treatment Cream SPF15*(here), DD Body Cream SPF15*(here) and Supreme Nourishment Triple Phase Body Oil*(here). And am not going to beat around the bush, these are absolutely lovely.

All three are a huge pleasure to use, kept my skin soft and hydrated throughout the day, they absorbed quickly, don't leave any residue and the low SPF is a welcome bonus. Yes, SPF 15 is pretty low but it gives enough protection while I'm standing close to the window or door in the house. Both have a soft powdery flower scent which I don't mind but if you're not a fan of scented body products then give these a miss.

The triple phase oil is an interesting one as it has three layers and needs to be shaken before use. Just like the other two, it also has a scent but it's more perfumed than my other body oils. I'm not sure how I feel about the scent, it's pleasant but I wish it was softer. It did a great job at keeping my skin moisturized throughout the day which is something that is much needed now that the weather has cooled down considerably.

Believe it or not, I have never tried a body mist. I am a perfume girl and I just don't see the point of a body mist but mark. All Bundled Up Body Mist*(here) has definitely opened my eyes to why this is a lovely addition to my routine. Most days when I am out and about, I don't want to use my heavier perfume especially when it's to bring Little Tyke to school or programmes. Also most places are scent free so I don't want to walk down the hall acting like a dickhead. All Bundled Up Body Mist*(here) is very soft, non-intrusive and you need to shove your nose right into my business to really detect the scent. It has a blend of sparking pear, vanilla bean and golden amber, in short? It's Autumn in a bottle. Love this!

All Bundled Up Hand Cream*(here) smells exactly like the mist which is lovely but....yes, unfortunately there's a few huge buts...I am not a fan of the formula. It never fully absorbs and I could feel a layer of product sitting on top of my hands and it's just unpleasant. It also doesn't offer any hydration or softness to my hands and the scent while I love it as a body mist, it was overpowering as a hand cream.

Onto the makeup, I have long been a fan of Avon's eye liners and I am happy to add these glimmer sticks(here) into my makeup routine. Teal Sparkle*, Blackened Green* and Majestic Plum* are twist up soft eye liners that glide smoothly on the lids however they were so soft that the tip broke when I tried to swatch them on my hand. These eyeliners are opaque, long lasting and you can smudge them to create smokey eyes.

I have said before that I have zero luck with Avon's mascaras and this True Color Wide Awake mascara*(here) is no different. It has an interesting twisted, spiralled wand and the formula is on the drier side. Despite the drier formula, it didn't hold any curl, very minimal volume but it gave good length. My biggest problem? This gave me spidery lashes on second coat. It seems like the formula is so dry that when I try to do a second coat, the mascara starts piling on my lashes. No, just a big fat no.

My love for Avon nail polish is well documented and these three are no different. Opaque with one coat, long lasting, smooth application and quick drying, these are my absolute dream nail polishes.

Sterling*(here) is a stunning shimmery silver and Noir Emerald*(here) is a gorgeous shimmery deep emerald that lasts forever on my nails, one week to be exact without chipping. There's a good reason why though as both took a bit more effort to remove but for their beauty, the extra mile was totally worth it. Nudeitude*(here) is one of the prettiest cream shades that looks amazing against my tan skin. It is not as long lasting as it lasted only 4 days on my nails before I noticed the first chip but it performed much better than my collection of Ciate and OPI.

As I said earlier in this post, there are hits and misses from the bunch but at the same time I am happy to be introduced to body mist and am now curious to try more.

Have you tried anything from Avon recently? What are your favourite body mist?

*I received these products for free but my thoughts and opinions are 100% unbiased, honest and my own. There is no place for any sort of BS here.
