A week ago I posted some of my current haircare products on Instagram and asked if anyone could take a wild guess which two products that I was obsessed with. You can see the picture here and if you could be a doll and give me a follow, I will love you forever. Yes, I have no shame for self-pimping.
I was actually surprised at how most if not all guessed It's A 10 Miracle Leave In Product as one of my favourites, I had no idea that it's a popular product for many. And it's actually one of the products that I am not really fond of; love the way it makes my hair look and feel but I can't stand the smell as it reminds me of chlorine. I'm also not the biggest fan of the OGX Coconut Water range but I'll save that for another post...an upcoming bitchy post as was voted by the messages I received on Instagram.
It's so strange that haircare products are not talked about as much as skincare and makeup. I'm not sure if many are not fussy or bothered about their hair or it's just a boring topic to discuss. My hair is back to its natural state as I snipped off the bleached parts during my last hair appointment so this is my current fuss free routine.
STEP 1: Shampoo and conditioner
Earlier this year I claimed that I had found my holy grail duo but you know what? Scratch that because I have found the best shampoo and conditioner for normal, thin and fine hair. Let me introduce you to Tigi Bed Head Urban Anti-dotes Level 1 Re-Energize.
If you are not a fan of SLS (sodium laureth sulfate) then this duo is not for you but if you don't mind it then read on. This duo smells clean and fresh, lathers up nicely, rinses easily and leaves my hair feeling clean without stripped but the real magic was only revealed after I blow dried my hair. I don't think I've ever seen my hair looking so shiny, bouncy and healthy! If you have normal hair that only needs to be 're-energized' from daily stress and pollution then this duo is for you.
STEP 2: The All In One
I spoke about this magical product on my InstaStories more than a month ago when I received a 3mL sample of it and have since purchased a full size. Say hello to the bad boy that will give you Victoria Secret model's hair; gorge* I'll Make You Look Amazing Daily Spray (not PR sample but the name has an asterisk).
This leave in conditioner detangles, smoothens, gives freaking volume and smells heavenly! All I do is spritz a couple of times on towel dry hair, finish off my evening skincare routine and blow dry.
STEP 3: The Magical Wand
I'm sorry (not really) about the naughty title for this step, I couldn't help myself. Now I wish I could get hold of Harry Potter's wand (oh yea, I went there) but since I can't, this magical thing sure comes close for the hair department.
Meet Tangle Teezer Large Round Blow-Drying Hair Brush*, the reason why my hair has been like a magical unicorn recently.
Tangle Teezer needs no introduction as it changed our perception towards combs in general. The fear of losing a handful of hair to the evil comb is a thing of the past thanks to their revolutionary design. I don't quite know how the comb does it but not once has my hair tugged while blow drying and not only has it saved my hair, it also made the whole process faster and easier.
How easy I hear you ask? All I do is flip all my hair upside down, blow dry with Tangle Teezer Large Round Blow-Drying Hairbrush* and a hair dryer (the nozzle is always an inch away from the comb), flip all my hair to the left, blow dry with comb and hair dryer again and then flip hair to the right and continue blow drying. I then repeat the whole process one last time and voila, perfect salon blow dried hair every time. It's a bloody game changer.
I have gone through a few round blow drying brushes and my thin, fine hair always got stuck and I ended up losing a few strands and that never happened with Tangle Teezer Large Round Blow-Drying Hairbrush*. I'm not even going to try and hide my obsession with this brush...I'm in hair heaven.
As much as I am tempted to dye my hair every single colour in the rainbow, I am happy with my recent simpler haircare routine. Let's be honest, I'm coming to an age where I couldn't care less anymore...the simpler the routine, the better.
Have you tried any of the products mentioned here? Do share about your haircare routine and what product do you swear by?
