Make Up For Ever is starting 2017 with a huge bang and has been releasing some of the most drool worthy launches. I am obsessed with their new Pro Sculpting Brow Palette* which I have been using every day and don't even get me started on their new High Precision Lip Pencils* which are creamier and more hydrating than some of my lipsticks (reviewed here).
Today's post is all about the latest launch by Make Up For Ever, the launch that has created a huge buzz all over the online world, say hello to the oh-so-shiny Acrylic Lip Paints. And if I was being a total brat about the lack of shiny packaging in my previous post on Make Up For Ever, they sure made it up and more this time.
Make Up For Ever definitely knocked it out of the park in every possible sense with these stunning Acrylic Lip Paints. Needless too say I was like a giddy teenager when I opened and saw the packaging.
I received three shades; 401* (raspberry red), 300* (orange), 201* (fuchsia pink) and have been testing them in multiple ways and let's see how I got along with them.

WHAT IS IT?
Artist Acrylip Lip Paints come in 10 shades and are inspired by the rich intensity of acrylic paint. The lightweight and non-sticky formula offers incredible versatility in both colour and finishes. These lip colours offer versatile, customizable and build-able intensity which allows soft wash of colour up to an intense layered or ombre look.
PACKAGING
The new Acrylic Lip Paints are housed in a sleek, black squeeze tube with a sponge applicator. The packaging itself is not new as it was first made popular by Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipsticks and Maybelline has also released Colour Jolt range with similar packaging last year.
I was a little sceptical if the sponge applicator was soft and good enough to offer a precise application but rest assured that it is. I never need a lip brush with these and frankly I have been pairing them with only a clear lip liner to prevent bleeding.

TEXTURE, PIGMENTATION & WEAR TIME
Right of the bat, I'll tell you that these are not fool proof. Initially I thought application was similar to all the other lip products meaning slap it on and go but nope. My advice, read the damn instructions or you'll end up getting frustrated like I did.
Make Up For Ever clearly advises to fill in the lips with a lip liner or primer before applying these which initially I didn't and the colour did bleed outside my lip line. Thankfully the bleeding was minimal without a lip liner and it wasn't awful like Rimmel Apocalips (reviewed here).
I was expecting the texture of these lip paints to be like lip gloss but I couldn't be more wrong. It literally feels like creamy lightweight melted lipstick with zero tackiness.
The pigmentation is out of this world and they are by far the most intense and bright colours that I have ever come across in a lip product. It can be sheered out by using only a tiny drop in the middle of the bottom lip, blend it outward and finally press your lips together to get the colour onto the upper lip but even then the colour is intense. I am not complaining as I love the intensity but if you are one who shies away from bold shades then be forewarned.
The wear time is not the best even with the addition of a lip liner. I get a maximum wear of 4 hours with only drinking as it transfers easily and definitely needed to be reapplied after eating. My lips also felt a little parched after wearing it for 5-6 hours but I believe due to the texture being so lightweight, it offers very little hydration.

I can definitely see these acrylic lip paints being a great addition to any beauty enthusiasts collection as they make ombre lips a breeze. I can also mix the shades easily and create my own custom shade.
Is it a must have for everyone? No, but if you are like me and love experimenting with your lip shades then you would have tons of fun with these.
Make Up For Ever Artist Acrylic Lip Paints are available for purchase for C$29.00 each through Sephora.ca and US$24.00 through Sephora.com.
*I received these products for free but my thoughts and opinions are 100% unbiased, honest and my own. There is no place for any sort of BS here.
