A first impression is one of the biggest factors for me to fall in or out of love with something or someone. Mr. Platt for example wow'ed me with his dry sense of humour and sarcasm so it was not hard to fall for him despite the fact he lived on the other side of the world.
Make Up For Ever recently launched a few new additions to their ever growing makeup line and while I was initially excited about them, the feeling fell short when I opened the package. Call me a brat but recently I have been spoiled by shiny, beautiful packaging so when I saw back to basic, no fuss, no frills packaging...I frowned and looked down my nose at it.
The famous Make Up For Ever expanded its Pro Sculpting range with the addition of Pro Sculpting Brow Palette* and for lips, you get High Precision Lip Pencils* available in 12 shades divided into three natural tone categories; nude, pink and red.
So despite my initial let down due to packaging, how did these products fare and did they live up to the usual exceptional standard of Make Up For Ever? Each product has been tested before Christmas until now so let's see if they are yay or nay in my book.
Pro Sculpting Brow Palette comes in two options; Harmony 1 which is meant for blonde to dark brown and Harmony 2* which is the shade that I received and it's for brown to black. The palette comes with three matte powders which can be used both wet or dry, a cream to powder highlighter, a clear brow wax, and a double ended applicator which has a slanted brush on one end and a spoolie on the other end. Both brush and spoolie are amazing quality and I have no problem using both for application.
I personally am not a fan of powder and cream products in the same palette as the powder usually gets into the cream product over time and renders it dirty and unusable but thankfully these powders are not powdery and are stiffer in texture. The pigmentation of each powder is build-able so you won't be walking around with Instagram brow (seriously, please let Instagram brow trend die in 2017?) and leaves a very natural looking finish.
MUFE suggested to either use a finger or the brush to apply the clear wax, fill in the brows with powder and finally the highlighter as the final touch. I'm not going to lie, I was ready to toss out this palette after the third try because I couldn't get it to work at all. My eyebrows are sparse so using the clear wax did nothing for me. What made me change my mind? Well, I decided to first fill in my brows with Essence Make Me Brow and then followed by the powders from this palette.

The result? Perfect, natural looking and long lasting eyebrows done within 3 minutes. Yes, you read that right...3 fucking minutes. I am blessed by the eyebrow deities.
High Precision Lip Pencil* (C$22.00)
MUFE decided to go old school with these lip liners because you need a sharpener with these. I'm not going to beat around the bush, I hate having to sharpen my lip or eye liners mainly because it's inconvenient and product wastage.
All that aside, what else can I say about these lip liners? Well, just like cleansers I never ever felt the need to splurge on lip liners because I have been more than happy with my NYX, Avon and Rimmel lip liners but these have definitely changed my mind.
I received two nudes shades; N13* is a nude tawny brown and N20* is a nude mauve pink and both are stunning on their own. They also layer beautifully with lip gloss and lipsticks and I find them to help prolong the wear of my lip products.
The texture of these lip liners are so soft and smooth like a normal lipstick but that's not the best part about them. They feel hydrating on the lips, very pigmented with almost zero transfer, have decent lasting power and there is no tackiness like my usual lip liners. I can easily wear these on their own and they last more 4-5 hours with snacking and drinking.

How much do I love these lip liners? I have been wearing them instead of lipsticks almost everyday for the past two weeks. Love, love, love them!
My brattiness about the simple, basic packaging aside, a huge part of me is relieved to know that the price that I am paying for Make Up For Ever products is for quality instead of pretty looking packaging. At the end of the day, isn't that what we want to spend our hard earned money on?
I am planning to do a list of the best Make Up For Ever products in the future, do let me know if any of you lovelies are interested in reading about it and I'll schedule it soon!
Which of these new Make Up For Ever launches interest you the most? What are your thoughts on them?
*I received these products for free but my thoughts and opinions are 100% unbiased, honest and my own. There is no place for any sort of BS here.
