Not too long ago a very dear blogger friend of mine, Dom (say hello here, be warned that she will make you lust for products that will make your wallet weep) gifted me my very first z-palette. Initially I had no idea what on earth I was to do with it as I am a palette girl through and through and I don't see the point of single eyeshadows.
I started with placing a couple of single eyeshadows and blushers that were collecting dust at the bottom of the makeup graveyard which I received through beauty subscriptions. And then I was very kindly sent four Arbonne single eyeshadows, eyeshadow primer and eye liner and that changed my makeup routine for the past month.
Instead of moaning and groaning about the lack of palette for these eyeshadows, I easily plopped them down in the z-palette, next to my bronzer and blush and I had almost everything I needed for my look. No more heaps of products everywhere so Dom, I love you and thank you!
In honour of Pantone colour of the year, Greenery, Arbonne has put together a few picks from their makeup collection to pay homage to the shade. Strongly inspired by nature and staying true to the brand's promise of “pure, safe, beneficial” products and commitment to all things green, these shades are symbolic of a healthier lifestyle and the environment.

Let's get the obvious out of the way, these eyeshadows definitely need a primer to perform but that aside, these are amazing. They do kick up a little bit of powder when I dip my brush but they blend effortlessly. I don't need effort to build up the pigmentation and they last all day on me with primer. They also don't fade nor crease and honestly the best way for me to describe them is effortless.
I am a self confessed neutral girl but surprisingly I have been wearing all four shades a lot! They are so easy to use and just very wearable.

It took me a few tries to finally appreciate and fall in love with this eyeshadow primer. It has a thicker, mousse like texture and leaves a tacky finish. Initially I really disliked the tackiness but soon found out it's actually a positive thing as it helps the eyeshadows adhere so much better and because of it, I have started using my very shimmery almost glittery eyeshadows.
I find this primer enhances eyeshadow pigmentation, prolongs wear and helps with creasing and fading. My eye makeup looks as fresh and good with it after a full day work shift!

• Includes a hidden detachable sharpener in the bottom of the applicator.

• Eyebright extract, a botanical containing antioxidant properties, helps deliver moisturizing benefits to soothe the eye area exposed to environmental dryness.

• Cupuacu butter, with a light, creamy texture, is quick-absorbing and helps support the skin’s moisture barrier; offering true hydration to improve the look of skin elasticity.
I received the shade Sage* which is a gorgeous sparkly dark emerald green however I am not a fan of this eye liner. I find the pencil to be stiff and dry instead of buttery smooth so it tugged a little on my lids. The pigmentation is also not the best so I have to draw over a few times to get the desired intensity.
Maybe I am spoilt by Marc Jacobs highliner and mark. by Avon Dusk till Dawn eye liners (reviewed here) but this was a no-no for me. For this price I want my eye liner to melt like butter on warm toast whenever I use it.
I have always had a great experience with Arbonne and I find their quality is usually amazing even though the eye liner was a bust this time. They also make really good skincare and I love that the brand promotes usage of the most beneficial botanical ingredients with the principles of green chemistry.
