It has been a whirlwind week here in the House of Platt. It felt like we were moving from 0 to 100 as soon as we woke up in the morning until we lay down to sleep at night. The good news is we have finally settled into the new home, the last box was unpacked on Tuesday and Mr. Platt's office was finally set up on Thursday. We still have workmen coming in every now and then doing the final touchups but I believe next week everything will settle for good. Fingers crossed.
Today 's post is the final instalment on the new Ecotools brushes and the stars today are Sheer Finish brush* and Define Highlight Duo*. Anyone who follows me on Instagram will remember that I have gushed endlessly about the Sheer Finish brush* and its magical abilities to blend and sheers out the most pigmented blushers, the duo on the other hand...well, let's get to it.
Frankly I had no idea what to expect from this duo. I am more than happy with my Wayne Goss fan brush and never ever thought I would love another but hey ho, what do you know, Ecotools proved me wrong.
Don't let the thicker looking fan brush scare you, surprisingly it gives a precise application when used with powder highlighters. I do find that it gives a subtle but buildable effect on the skin so if you are one who loves your highlighter to be seen from space then be warned you will need to build up a lot with this brush.
And without beating around the bush, I will let you lovelies know that I absolutely love the tapered brush! It's the perfect size and density to be used for both contour and blush and it's such an amazing one to have in my collection. I do find it a touch too small to be used with bronzer but that's just my personal preference. This brush also gives an almost airbrushed finish to the skin so you never have to worry about a brown muddy streak across your cheeks when your contour.
This brush's bristles reminds me of a stippling brush which is the reason why it beautifully sheers out any powder product on the face. There is nothing much that I can add which I have not already said on my InstaStories; if you have very fair skin and most blushers and bronzers are way too pigmented for you then this is your new best friend. If you have powder products that are way too pigmented and you're tired of using a very light hand then this is the brush for you too.
It blends beautifully and makes powder products look like they are part of your natural glow and I think everyone should have it in their collection.
Don't let Ecotools budget friendly price range fool you into thinking scratchy, low quality makeup brushes because their products are anything but that! With the exception of Ecotools makeup sponges (reviewed here) which I wasn't the biggest fan of, I highly recommend checking out their brushes as I have been reaching for them every single time I apply my makeup.
*Products marked with * were received for free but my thoughts and opinions are 100% unbiased, honest and my own. There is no place for any sort of BS here.
