THE FASHION CHALLENGE EDITION: MY TAKE ON THE LATEST FASHION TRENDS

What do you equate fashion to? The latest trend? The Pantone colour of the year? The couture? Or individual styles meaning whatever you are most comfortable in? Are you guilty of mindless countless hours of browsing, watching, and reading the endless stream of fashion blogs, news,  and channels?

I can proudly or shamefully say that I do almost none of the above. I have always been someone who buys and wears whatever catches my eye. Well to be fair my clothes shopping routine is;

1. 'Oooo, that's pretty!' picks it up and try it on

2. 'Oooo, it looks good on me!' checks price tag

And then it will be either 'Great price!' and I end up buying or 'Wtf?! Oh, fuck no!' and I will put back said piece while muttering how bloody expensive everything is these days.

Trends and me have never got along and I don't think we ever will but in some strange universe I somehow thought it would make an interesting blog post. So let me present you...

A late-30s mama of two takes on a couple of the latest trends...drum roll please....

THE TANK DRESS

Believe it or not, I had to Google the proper term for this dress and how youngsters these days are styling it. Apparently one is able to dress up and down with a tank dress which as you can imagine by now proved to be quite the challenge for me especially when I have limited amount of clothes to begin with.

Casual Me Down

This was super easy for me as it's something that I would put together with my other outfits. A denim jacket, a pair of sneakers, a cap to hide my two day old hair and a back pack. I find this outfit to be comfortable except when there is a huge gush of wind trying to transform me into an Asian Marilyn Monroe.

Dress Me Up 

This was a challenge for me but not as massive as the next one. I had to Google for inspirations and with Mr. Platt getting increasingly annoyed with me being unable to make up my mind on what accessories to wear, I threw this look together on a whim.

I mean a pair of heels always solves the problem, right?

I had no idea on what to do with my hair so as always, I decided to put it up in a bun and finally took out this stunning statement necklace from Avon. Yes, Avon. 

I think I did pretty good with this look and I will definitely wear this same outfit again the next time Mr. Platt and I have a date night.

THE ROMPER

I am not a fan of this romper. Maybe the fit is not right for me or I am not used to it, I just find it next to impossible to create a look with it. I checked the measurement on Tobi.com and was sure I fit the size Small but it was way too big on me. I think the fit is a little large so I would advise to order a size down or at least that's what I will do with my next order.

Yes, the Avon statement necklace made another appearance with this outfit and I have a feeling you guys will be seeing more of it soon. I never thought I would love a statement piece but here I am finally a convert.

I have never hid my personal challenges when it comes to fashion and I don't think I will ever overcome this hurdle. Some days are better than others, I will stop, think and try to prioritize my look for the day but more often not, I grab the most comfortable thing I see.
