I am back again today with another skincare edition and this time it is by Roger & Gallet, one of the most popular Parisian brands that literally have been around for more than a century. Some of you might remember that I had previously featured their body wash and soap (read here) and fragrances (read here) and the love for the brand continues in today's post.
Early in the year I was lucky to receive a few products from the famed Aura Mirabilis range and if you follow me on Instagram then you already know that this will be a very positive review. The core of this range is a 300 year old natural remedy recipe named Aura Mirabilis which is made out of 18 distilled officinal plants.

This was the first Roger & Gallet skincare that caught my eye. I saw Ash (say hello here) gushing about it all over her Instagram and I instantly added it to my Sephora love list. Don't let the name vinegar fool you into thinking this smells sourish because it is anything but that.
This exfoliating toner is rich with plant extracts and fruit vinegars and it's meant to prime and deliver gentle exfoliation to the skin. It's bi-phase so you do have to shake it well before using and the texture is just like water. Now be warned that it has a very strong floral scent, actually the whole Aura Mirabilis range smells the same which I find to be refreshing but some might find it overpowering.
My favourite way of using this toner is to pour into my palm and pat it into the skin. I find using a cotton pad is a waste of product but that's just my personal preference. It absorbs within seconds and my skin instantly looks and feels soft, smooth and supple. I was instantly in love from the very first use! Over time I even noticed my pores looking smaller, something that I never thought possible.
Repurchase? Yes, yes and forever yes. This is holy grail status for me.
I'm going to say it outright, this is a beautiful cream. The texture looks thick in the jar but it melts into the skin like butter leaving my skin instantly looking and feeling smooth. Be warned that Dimethicone is third in the ingredient list so if you are sensitive or not a fan of it then this cream is not for you.
This cream is rich with plant extracts, Vitamin E, ester of Salicylic Acid and also has Biotin but it's the second last ingredient. It feels cooling as soon as it touches the skin and absorbs quickly despite the texture. I do have dry-normal skin but I can see this cream working even for combination skin lovelies.
Repurchase? Maybe, it's a beautiful cream but I tend to be very fickle when it comes to moisturizers so it depends on how much I miss it when I'm done with the jar.
Is it a moisturizer? Is it a serum? This product confuses the hell out of me but judging from the reviews I read on Sephora, I was not the only one who felt that way. The texture is a lightweight gel that absorbs almost instantly leaving my skin looking so smooth almost like a real life filter.
It's suggested to use after Beauty Vinegar and Double-Extract Serum so I believe this is supposed to be a moisturizer. Personally I find it to be too lightweight to be used as a last step so I have been using it as a serum instead. I do have dry-normal and mature skin so I need the extra moisture. That said, I see this as the perfect moisturizer for oily skin lovelies.
It layers beautifully under moisturizer or facial oil however it does cause some of my primers and foundations to pill so I reserve it only for the evenings. There are no words to express how much I love this as a serum. It contains Arginine, Salicylic Acid, Vitamin E and has been my skin saviour whenever I see signs of pimples. Every time I see signs of a breakout coming, I will reach for this and the next morning, I wake up to clear skin again.
Repurchase? 100% massive YES! This is another holy grail product that I can't be without.
I have been on a serious skincare kick since the end of 2016 and it's getting harder and harder to wow me but Roger & Gallet did it again. I have my eyes on the Double-Extract Serum and Cleansing Mask next which I have no doubt my skin will love.
Have you tried Roger & Gallet Aura Mirabilis range?
*Products marked with * were received for free but my thoughts and opinions are 100% unbiased, honest and my own. There is no place for any sort of BS here.
