I have come to the realization that I am getting old. Little Tyke's bursts of energy are a constant reminder that I am always tired and sometimes all I want to do is just lay down and play dead. It's astounding how much enthusiasm is present in someone so little and while I adore him to death, there are days when I wish he would be more mellow especially when my insomnia hits the night before.
Yes, he still naps for an hour in the afternoon and that's when Mr. Platt and I regain our sanity, patience and whatever left over energy to last us until the evening. And I'm staring to notice the tiredness is starting to show on my skin; dull and lack lustre.
thisworks is a brand that needs no introduction thanks to their cult favourite, best selling Deep Sleep Pillow Spray. I was very kindly sent two products from the brand some time ago and if you follow me on Instagram (which you totally should....) then you already know how much I adore them.
What can I say about it that hasn't already been said? This is a pillow spray that helps improve sleep quality and according to the brand, it also helps reduce anxiety. I can't attest to the latter but I'm sharing my point of view as an insomniac.
This spray is a relaxing blend of essential oils, more specifically Lavender, Vetivert and Chamomile. I am not familiar with Vetivert but I definitely noticed both Lavender and Chamomile which I like but I can't say the same for Mr. Platt. He still frowns whenever I use this spray so I have to spritz only my side of the bed.
Not going to lie, it took me some time to fall in love with it because I initially thought it was supposed to help me fall asleep. No, it doesn't but the reason why I adore it and will forever repurchase is it helps me stay asleep. I usually wake up between 2-3am and will be wide awake but this spray helps lull me back to sleep without any trouble. Catching a whiff of this scent when my mind wakes me up at 2am somehow manages to calm me down and I easily drift back to sleep.
Repurchase? Forever yes, and this PR sample is actually my third bottle and the first two were bought by me. Bonus, it also doesn't stain my bedding or silk pillow case which makes it a true winner.

I'm going to cut to the chase here; this is by far one of the best night creams (close to being the best) that I have ever tried. I would go as far as saying this is my top 2 with the other being AmorePacific Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Creme (reviewed here) which is almost double the price of this.
thisworks nailed it right on almost everything; the uniquely beautiful heavy opaque plastic packaging, the texture and the glorious ingredient list. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I wish this moisturizer and all skincare products came in an airless pump but it's not possible so I'm not going to repeat myself here onwards.
This rich in texture and hydration moisturizer has a woody, nutty scent that I know will not be everyone's cup of tea but if you can smell past that then you are in for a treat. It's rich with oils (Macadamia, Rosehip, Evening Primrose, Bitter Orange, Lavender, Rose and a few more) and also contains Retinol, Lactic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E and peptides. Shea Butter is also high on the ingredient list so if you are sensitive to it then you might want to try a sample before committing to a full size.
A little goes a very long way so this jar will last me a good few months with 4 times a week application. I do skip it if I am using a retinol or a strong exfoliating serum because I don't want to overload my skin.
To apply I will mist my face, warm up the cream in between my palms and pat it into my skin and it will absorb within a minute or so. Once absorbed it will not leave any residue or tackiness. The real magic however is how my skin looks the next morning; fresh, well rested, hydrated, soft and supple skin. My fine lines are also noticeably softer which is a remarkable feat at my age.
Repurchase? Yes, I can't see myself without it.
It's easy to see why thisworks is a brand that is highly raved about by the beauty world. Usually an overhyped brand or product leads me to nothing but disappointment but it's safe to say the case is very different this time.
thisworks, you are definitely worth the hype.
