Remember two years ago when everyone and their cat went absolutely gaga for anything and everything coconut? You saw it everywhere; oral care, hair care, skincare, whatever-rocks-your-boat-care.
It was so intense it felt like coconuts were a new religion and almost everyone you knew was preaching like it was the second coming. And as always, here we are today and the new in-trend ingredient is Centella Asiatica and there is barely a whisper about coconut.
Despite the coconut hype having died a quick death, Palmer's recently launched a few new products in their Coconut Oil range and guys, they are amazingggg! I was kindly sent Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Body Oil*, Body Lotion* and finally the newest to the bunch, Luminous Hydration Facial Oil*.
You know how the saying goes about 'you'll never unlearn breathing, walking and swimming'? I find the same goes for reading ingredient lists and oh boy, these are brilliant lists. All three products are made with ethically and sustainably sourced natural Coconut and Monoi oils and are rich with Vitamin E and healthy oils (Sunflower, Soya Bean, Canola, Grapeseed, Macadamia, Apricot, Sesame, just to name a few). They are also free from parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, gluten, sulphates and dyes.
I have been using either the body lotion or body oil every day since receiving them more than a month ago and I do see myself repurchasing in the future. The body lotion is one of the rare few that leaves my skin moisturized the whole day; I don't see any signs of dryness on my shins at the end of the day or the next morning when I wake up.
The body oil is rich, very silky and if it was given to me in blind testing, I would have guessed it to be a luxury product. It instantly nourishes my skin, leaving it baby soft and smooth and the scent is absolutely heavenly. It's a delicate balance between rich vanilla and cocoa butter with a very slight whiff of coconut in it.
And as always, I leave the best for last, the facial oil. Long-time readers know my love for the original Palmer's Face Therapy Facial Oil which has retinol in it, I have gone through multiple bottles but this might have knocked it off the throne. This new Palmer's Coconut Oil Luminous Hydration Facial Oil* has the same scent and silkiness as the body oil but with a much thinner texture. It's a very rich oil and 3 drops is all I need for my dry/normal skin for it to replace my moisturizer as the last step in my routine. It absorbs quickly without leaving any greasiness or residue and my makeup wears beautifully on top.
After using it for more than a month, it's safe to say that my skin absolutely loves it. The glow that it leaves my skin is remarkable, so much so that I look like I'm wearing a highlighter! Don't mistake the glow for oiliness, it's actually natural radiance and my skin looks almost translucent if that makes any sense?
Palmer's has always delivered top quality with remarkable results and this Coconut Oil range might just be my favourite from the brand. It's also good to know that the products are made with natural, ethically and sustainably sourced ingredients but come with a budget-friendly price.
If you are looking for brilliant body care and facial oils without breaking the bank then I highly recommend checking out Palmer's. You won't be disappointed.
*Products marked with * were received for free but my thoughts and opinions are 100% unbiased, honest and my own. There is no place for any sort of BS here.
