I have to admit, I don't think I will ever get tired of testing skincare. Unlike makeup which I sometimes find to be 'the same old shite, different day', skincare is a whole new different world. Different textures, scents and most importantly, ingredients always keep it interesting and I am forever in search for the next best thing.
Vichy LiftActiv Collagen Specialist* has been in my rotation for more than a month and I have put it through multiple tests; snow storms, warmer days, over and under multiple different skincare and makeup.
One thing is for sure, the results are always the same. My skin absolutely loves it and I think this is by far my favourite Vichy moisturizer ever. It far surpasses my previous favourite, LiftActiv Supreme which I have gone through 2 jars.
So what makes Vichy LiftActiv Collagen Specialist* such a standout product? First, let's start with the basic; texture and scent. It has a lightweight gel/cream texture which literally feels like it melts into the skin upon massaging it in. It instantly absorbs without any residue or tackiness and leaving the skin feeling and looking velvety smooth. The scent, on the other hand, will divide the general public opinions. If you are familiar with Vichy products then you know their signature scent and I personally find it to be stronger in this moisturizer. I personally enjoy and find it to be invigorating, however, I think it might bother others.
This moisturizer is rich with antioxidants, humectants, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Adenosine and 2 peptides, however, be warned that it also contains silicone high in the list. If you are not a fan of silicones or if your skin reacts badly to them then give this a miss. One thing that is missing is collagen itself and in a way, I am glad that it's not in the ingredient list as I don't think topically applied collagen does anything other than boosting hydration. It's safe to say the word collagen in the name of this moisturizer means this cream aims to boost the production instead of having it as an ingredient.
It won't come as a surprise how much I adore this cream. It nourishes my skin really well, keeping it plump, healthy and smooth and after almost a month of daily application, I noticed an increase in radiance and decrease in dry spots.
Would I repurchase? Yes, 110% in a heartbeat! Vichy truly hit the ball out of the park with this launch.
Have you tried this moisturizer before? Are you a fan of silicones?
