Hello lovelies and welcome back to a new post! I sincerely apologize that it was crickets here last week and it to me two days to recover from camping and who the hell would have thought paddleboarding cause my body to ache in places that I never even knew exist before...wtf?!
Anyway, now that my arms are not jelly and my thighs are not feeling wonky anymore, I am back here to share one of the newest Vichy launches that I am so excited about! Let's talk about Mineral 89 Eyes*. Long-time readers know of my undying love from the original Mineral 89 and I have lost count how many bottles I have gone through.
Just like the original Mineral 89 Eyes* contains only 13 ingredients and some of the notable ones are; 89% Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water (contains 15 minerals), Propanediol (humectant, emollient), Shea Butter (anti-inflammatory, skin softener), Glycerin (humectant), Caffeine (reduces dark circles and puffiness) Sodium Hyaluronate (humectant), Adenosine (skin soothing, skin-restoring) and Chlorella Vulgaris Extract (link from TruthInAging.com). It's also paraben, fragrance, alcohol, silicone & oil-free and most importantly, non-greasy or tacky.
Does this version for the eyes truly lives up to its claims to fortifies, hydrates, smoothes and brightens dark circles?
This scent-free eye serum is housed in a glass bottle with a pump and has a lightweight liquid gel texture. It is quite similar to the original with the latter to be a tad lighter in texture and clear in colour while this is hazy in appearance. I don't need much to cover both eyes, half a pump is more than enough.
If you noticed, I described this as an eye serum because I personally feel that it acts like one for me. It's not enough to be a stand-alone eye cream for me but please bear in mind that I am 40 and am at the stage that I need more to maintain my skin. If you are in your 20s and early 30s, this will be more than sufficient as an eye cream as you don't want to overload products around your eye areas.
I have been testing Mineral 89 Eyes* multiple ways for more than a month; by itself, under and over my usual eye cream and I love it under my usual eye cream as it acts as a booster. The persistent red, itchy dryness around my eyes are finally gone ever since I started using this under my eye cream. After 3 weeks, I noticed my fine lines to be smoother, my concealer no longer creases and my eye areas look brighter and better!
Vichy has long been one of my top 3 favourite skincare brands and this is another winner in my book. Who and why do you need it? Anyone and everyone would benefit from this. If you are just starting to get into eye creams, if you are looking for a decent price eye serum to try, if you are sensitive to scent....the list goes on as I think everyone will enjoy it.
Final verdict? 110% will be repurchasing!
*Gifted but my thoughts and opinions are 100% unbiased, honest and my own. There is no place for any sort of BS here.
