There is no denying that CBD products have taken the world by a storm. Here in Canada, the CBD fever has reached a new height ever since marijuana is legalized. There is no denying that it has its own health benefit, whether to manage stress, anxiety or to help with pain and more severe illness symptoms, the legalization was celebrated by the nation.
It should come as no surprise that beauty brands were quick to hop onto the cannabis bandwagon. The beauty market started launching cannabis-inspired makeup (Melt Cosmetics Smoke Sessions Palette, anyone?) and the skincare market is flooded by CBD infused products.
In the midst of this cannabis madness, there are a few important things to note;
"CBD is not THC. It doesn't have the same mind-altering properties (both are sourced in different ways) so if you are hoping to get high by applying lotions all over your face then you'll be sadly disappointed.
CBD and Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil aka Hemp Seed Oil is not the same thing. The former is extracted from the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant and contains cannabinoids while the latter is extracted through cold-pressed hemp seeds and does not contain cannabinoids."
One thing for sure though, both CBD and hemp seed oil have their own benefits depending on the concentration and amount present in a product. Today, I'll be sharing a few CBD infused products which I received from NxN (Nurture by Nature). With the exception of the overnight mask which contains only 45mg CBD, the other 3 products are infused with 90mg.
Zero Gravity Whipped CBD Day Cream* ($24.00/30mL) is targeted for dry-sensitive skin but I personally feel it would suits all skin types even the oiliest skin lovelies. The texture is truly lightweight and very fast absorbing which initially alarmed me as I didn't think it would be hydrating enough. Thankfully, it is hydrating enough even in the much colder temperature that I am experiencing now.

The ingredient list is truly lovely as it's rich with so many plant extracts however, if you are not a fan of silicone in your skincare then this is not for you. While this is named as a day cream, I have been using it both morning and night and my skin is loving it. Over time, my skin seems more supple, plump and radiant. I will consider repurchasing it, especially for Summer next year as it will be too lightweight for me for Winter.
I gave Balanced Beam Oil Control Moisturizer* ($24.00/30mL) to a very dear friend of mine who has very oily skin. It was too lightweight for my dry-normal skin type so I knew I couldn't give it a proper test and review.

The texture is very pleasant; a lightweight gel that absorbs instantly and leaves a matte finish. My friend absolutely adore this moisturizer! She noticed that her skin is no longer as oily throughout the day and the best part is it didn't irritate her skin. That said, she didn't notice any anti-ageing results of yet but will update me when she is done with the bottle.
I am not going into details about Beauty Sleep CBD Infused Hydration Mask* ($24.00/15mL) as I have expressed my love for it in this post. In short, it's a lightweight, brilliant antioxidant-rich overnight mask that truly delivers brighter, smoother and more supple skin.
As always, I save the best for last; Power Detok Clear Complexion CBD Mask* ($24.00/ 1fl oz). This is your traditional clay mask that dries down quick and slightly tight on the face. The texture is thick but creamy so it's easy to spread on the skin.

What impressed me most was the fact I saw a brightening effect from the first try! I applied it to slightly damp skin, left it for 10 minutes, rinse with a microfibre cloth and my skin was glowing. I am sceptical of products that give instant results but this mask delivers every single time. It's suggested to use it once or twice a week and I agree, anything more might dry out the skin unless you're very oily. I have been using it twice a week for more than 3 weeks and my skin is smoother, clearer and definitely radiant! Absolutely love this mask!
To sum this post, I can't solely credit CBD for the brilliant results that I have with NxN CBD beauty range. If you take a glance at the ingredient lists, each product is filled with lots of antioxidants, botanical and plant extracts and fatty alcohols. The formulation itself is what made each product brilliant and delivers fabulous results.
I love that the prices are also in a reasonable range and you get the option to do a subscription where they replenish the products within your date of choice or you can do a one time purchase.
Final verdict? I highly recommend checking out NxN Beauty. They are transparent in their products, ingredients and formulations and there is something for everyone.
