Catrice has been a brand that I fell in love with when I first started blogging. It was tough to get my hands on in Canada as it's not sold here but a dear friend who lives in Europe sent me a couple of products that I fell in love with.
The good news is, Shoppers Drugmart now carries the brand and I am over the moon that Canadians can now easily discover the products. I was very kindly sent a few products to try and must say that they didn't disappoint. I must admit that I received these products some time ago so this review is long overdue.
Keep Me Matt Primer is an oil-free primer that smoothes out the skin and creates a great base for foundation. I don't find it drying, on the contrary, it's actually quite hydrating. The texture is a light lotion that absorbs quickly and leaves a slight tackiness to grip foundation. I don't find it to be particularly matte (thankfully!) but it does minimize shine around my t-zone at the end of the day.
Verdict: A natural finish primer that minimizes shine and prolongs my makeup wear time. Love it and will consider repurchasing.
I was worried about HD Liquid Coverage Foundation as it claims to be mattifying and I tend to stay away from the matte base. Thankfully, the finish is demi-matte, natural and skin-like. This foundation gives a light-medium, buildable to solid medium coverage, doesn't sink into my pores or fine lines and has amazing lasting power. Catrice says it lasts up to 24 hours but I truly hope nobody in their right mind will wear a foundation but such a long period of time...that said, I can attest that it lasted well over 10 hours before I noticed fading around my nose and chin areas.
Verdict: A natural skin-like long-lasting foundation that suits all skin types. I do wish they have more shade range.
My relationship with setting spray is very new as I only started to use one 7-8 months ago. I didn't feel like I needed one beforehand but ever since I started working full time, I needed something to help my makeup last longer throughout the day. Prime and Fine Dewy Glow Setting Spray does all that while leaving a healthy, dewy glow to the skin. I do advise giving the bottle a good shake before spritzing as it has a layer of very fine shimmer in it but it doesn't show on the skin.
Verdict: This reminds me of my favourite Morphe Continous Setting Spray and I will consider repurchasing.
Beauty blogger Eman collaborated with Catrice to launch a few products and I received the blush and highlighter palette. Unfortunately, the highlighter palette arrived broken but thankfully I managed to repress them. Be warned that while the texture is extremely soft and creamy it also means the highlighters are very fragile.
The highlighters are pigmented so I advise going in with featherlight hand. That said, I personally find the shades to be better suited for light-medium to darker skin tones which work great for me but if you are very fair then this might not be right for you.
I adore shade Victoria (golden-champagne) and Surrey (champagne) and have been wearing them almost every day. They look amazing on my skin and doesn't highlight any skin textures. Whistler (duo-chrome white) on the other hand, is not my favourite as I find it to sit weird on me and highlights my fine lines. Finally, Maple (dark bronze) is a gorgeous deep bronze that is way too dark to be used as a highlighter so I love it as an eyeshadow.
Verdict: Beautiful, creamy highlighters but I don't think it's for all skin tone. Love all shades except Whistler.

If you followed me on Instagram then it'll be no surprise that I am head over heels in love with the blush palette. I love everything about it; the shade range, blends like a dream and very long-lasting. I suggest going in with a light hand as these are very pigmented so it's easy to achieve clown cheeks.
Shisha, Luxor and Cairo are mattes while Alexandria is a shimmer finish. The texture is soft, buttery but there are no kickups when I dip my brush in any of the shades.
Verdict: This palette has found a home in my permanent rotation, I love it that much!
I am impressed with these products and have been consistently reaching for them. If you are looking for a budget-friendly and amazing quality makeup then I highly suggest checking out Catrice.
